My second Oddarrang album, my first on vinyl. I have to say as much as I liked In Cinema, Agartha is even better. Really excited to here this on my stereo in vinyl. Thanks for the great music Oddarrang.
Favorite track: Mass I-III.

Bold, dramatic and complex. I think it's well mastered, but my 'mate' Ed OleFart thinks differently, so see for yourself. A new contrast on post rock that is refreshing and entirely absorbing.
Favorite track: Telos / Agartha.

I'm worn out on post rock. It's an easy formula to follow, but often results in deeply boring music. But Oddarrang bring something new and fresh. There's jazz and ambient and classical and just enough throw your hands in the air with joy moments to make it all worthwhile. It's a fine mix of sounds, and makes for a truly special album.
Favorite track: Telos / Agartha.
‘Agartha’ is the fourth studio album by Finnish quintet Oddarrang and their second for UK label Edition Records. Taking its name from the legendary world that is said to reside in the Earth's core, ‘Agartha’ is raw, full of life and profound; beautiful, elevating and primal.
Olavi Louhivuori: drums, synths, voice
Ilmari Pohjola: trombone, synths, voice
Lasse Sakara:guitars, voice
Lasse Lindgren: bass, synths, voice
Osmo Ikonen: cello, synths, voice
Finnish quintet Oddarrang has established itself as a band with an undeniably unique sound – blending monumental riffs and dynamic builds with heart-wrenching, anthemic melodies that soar over a compelling and absorbing rhythmical drive. ‘Agartha’ pushes that emotion and potency to new levels with earworm melodies you’re sure you’ve heard before and driving rhythms sent pulsing through your veins.
Led by eclectic musician and spiritual drummer, Olavi Louhivuori, Oddarrang has produced a bold and imposing statement that without doubt will take it to the brink of international exposure.
Brave in conception and epic in execution, this music wells from the same melancholic Nordic spring that feeds the likes of Sigur Rós & Supersilent, adding the folky, post-rock influences of Mogwai and the electronic sound sculptures of Boards of Canada.
As Olavi explains: ‘Agartha has taken on a new energy for us. The writing and recording process was so rewarding and inspiring for us all. We’re very happy with the new music. For the band, the music is special, it’s part of all of us and brings together our own personal tastes and vision for the music. Now, we can’t wait for ou fans and new fans to hear it’.
Clocking in just shy of 40 minutes, the five-track album ‘Agartha’ takes its name from the legendary world that is said to reside in the Earth's core. With a unique blend of cello and trombone, soaring vocals and electronic soundscapes fusing with the magma intensity of guitar, bass and drums, this is music that achieves profound beauty: elevating and primal.

Experimental Finnish band Oddarrang make a genre-defying sound. They have been compared to the cool but moving expression of
Icelanders like Björk and Sigur Rós – a mesmerising and spiritual sonic soundscape. Oddarrang’s fascinating mix of musical moods, traditions and their unusual instrumentation (trombone, cello, guitar, acoustic bass and drums) are gaining them more fans at every performance....more
Innovative and full of character. It's a long time since I've been so enraptured by a release such as this. 4 unique talents 'Together as One'. smithyhouse1
I have been searching for jazzy music similar to "ambient jazz ensemble" I finally found it. sweet jazz, with electronic trip hop downtempo elements. I've listened to all the albums, and this one is my fave. it's impossible to pick a favorite, but it would either be,
Juniper, hyperloop, crossings, or eight days lol. MajikDan
